Xplore tour attendees will learn to manage and manipulate images with confidence and speed, while also getting the best results possible from the images captured. They will learn a variety of tips and tricks to create stunning photos to share and treasure. Appropriate for advanced amateur photographers and photo enthusiasts—those who have a passion for photography and who want to push the edge on their digital imaging skills—the Xplore tour will empower attendees to get the most from their photos, while making digital photography a lot more fun.

The half-day (1pm–5pm) seminars will be taken by renowned and experienced professionals and digital photographers like Abhijit Nandi, Tarun Das (Associate Press), Debasis Sarkar, Rupak De Chowdhury (Reuters), Soumyadip Ghosh, Ronny Sen (The Statesman) and Manob Ghosh (Press Trust of India), who will provide an unbiased, real-world perspective on how to make digital photography simple and fun.

Session Details:

Day One: Tarun Das  (Associate Press, Siliguri) – History and Transformation of Camera, Basic understanding of Digital Photography, its limitations and comparison with Analog. The basic theories and principles of photography.

Day Two: Rupak de Chowdhury (Reuters, Siliguri) – Hostile training and management course, i.e. How to keep alive and shoot while working in a conflict or war zone.

Day Three: Debasis Sarkar (Secretary, Sky Watchers association of north Bengal.) – How to shoot Sky ? This is a special subject of interest covering the concepts and the art of making photographs of astronomical objects in the sky such as the Moon, Sun, planets etc.

Day Four: Manob Ghosh ( PTI) – The history and evolution of Photography, the aesthetics, light, and different compositional rules.

Day Five: Abhjit Nandi – Digital photography tools and techniques, understanding colour photography, choosing and knowing the right camera for yourself, how to shoot in available natural light.

Day Six – Soumyadip Ghosh – Understanding Photoshop or other photo editing software, Photoshop plug inns and usages, showcasing your images to the world, sharing with family and friends, and appreciating modern day photojournalism.

Day seven – A day-out and a photographic trip to Rocky Island, Samsing with all Xplore attendees.

There would be discussions on the subject after everyday sessions, which will be conducted by Ronny Sen, Maroon Photos.
